AND. WHEREAS, YAVAPAI COUNTY STRIVES TO PROVIDE FOR WELFARE AND SECURITY OF ITS CITIZENS THROUGH FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP AND COOPERATION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. WHEREAS YAVAPAI COUNTY WANTS TO COMMEND THE SWORN AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEMBERS THAT PROVIDE COST EFFECTIVE AND RESEARCH SUPPORTED SUPERVISION, SUPPORT AND HOPE TO OVER 4000 ADULTS AND NEARLY 500 YOUTH THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY.
AND THEREFORE, YAVAPAI COUNTY PROCLAIMS JULY 16TH TO THE 22ND 2023 TO BE PRETRIAL PROBATION PAROLE SUPERVISION WEEK, AND ENCOURAGES THE ADULTS AND THE JUVENILE PROBATION TO CONTINUE ITS COMMUNITY SAFETY AND LIFE CHANGING WORK.

NOW WE'VE BEEN APPROACHED BY THE CITY OF PRESCOTT.
IT'S IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THEIR RIGHT OF WAY.
SO THEY WANT TO BUY THAT LITTLE SLIVER TO WIDEN THE RIGHT OF WAY.
AND SO AGAIN, PURSUANT TO STATUTE, THE COUNTY HAS THE AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT LESS THAN WHAT'S OWED.
IN THIS CASE. THEY'VE MADE AN OFFER OF $100 THAT DOES COVER THE COUNTY'S COSTS IN AT LEAST PUBLISHING THIS PARCEL, THE SALE OF THIS PARCEL.
AND THIS IS THAT AREA THAT'S RIGHT THERE ADJACENT TO TAMARACK LANE.
YES. AND THE PARCEL REALLY HAS NO VALUE FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.
SO HOW DID IF IT HAD NO OTHER VALUE FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE, HOW DID IT GET UP TO $16,000 IN DELINQUENT TAX? SO OBVIOUSLY, THE ASSESSOR'S OFFICE HAS TO TRACK A LOT OF PARCELS AND WHEN DEVELOPMENT OCCURS AND PARCELS ARE SPLIT AND SPLITS FROM THE SPLITS, SOMETIMES THERE'S A REMNANT AND THAT REMNANT WILL BE ASSIGNED A VALUE.
EVEN THOUGH IF YOU WENT OUT AND DID A PHYSICAL INSPECTION AND DID A DETERMINATION OF FAIR MARKET VALUE, WHAT'S BEEN ASSIGNED TO IT PROBABLY ISN'T CONSISTENT WITH ITS FAIR MARKET VALUE. AND THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS CASE.
THIS ONE ARGUABLY HAS EVEN LESS VALUE.
IT'S A VERY SMALL, IRREGULAR SHAPED PARCEL AND YES, IT HAS LITTLE OR NO VALUE IN THE TOWN OF CLARKDALE HAS OFFERED TO PAY $1,000 FOR IT, AND THEY INTEND TO USE IT FOR A PUBLIC PURPOSE OF EITHER FLOOD CONTROL OR TRANSPORTATION.
OKAY. AND THAT'LL WIPE OUT THE.
DELINQUENT TAXES? THAT'S CORRECT. AND THAT WAS THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF TAXES DUE LESS THE $1,000 THAT THEY'RE ACTUALLY PAYING FOR THE PARCEL PLUS THE $125 IN COSTS THAT WERE INCURRED BY THE COUNTY RELATIVE TO THE OFFERING THIS PROPERTY FOR SALE.

IS THIS A CONTRACT OR IS THIS JUST A STIPEND? IT IS NOT A CONTRACT.
IT IS A HOURLY RATE THAT WE SET BASED ON A 40 HOUR WORKWEEK.
HOWEVER, THEY DO AS MUCH WORK AS NEEDED TO COVER THAT 40 HOUR WORKWEEK.
SOME OF THAT IS IN PERSON HERE.
AND THESE ARE TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES.
IS MY UNDERSTANDING, ARE THEY SEASONAL OR TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES? AND THEN SOME OF THEIR WORK IS DONE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK DOING THE CERTIFICATIONS AND SIGNING OFF FROM THEIR LOCATION IN PIMA COUNTY.
SO BEING TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES, THEY DON'T EARN ERS? CORRECT. THEY DO NOT KNOW THAT IT IS A FLAT RATE.
SO IF WE LOOKED AT OUR MEDICAL EXAMINER FROM WHAT WE WERE PAYING HIM WHEN HE WAS A COUNTY EMPLOYEE, THAT WOULD BE ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT, 6000 A WEEK, WOULD IT NOT? IT WAS APPROXIMATELY RIGHT THERE.
WE EXPECT THAT IF WE WERE TO HIRE SOMEONE AT, SAY, AN AVERAGE NOW GOING RATE OF A MEDICAL EXAMINER OF $250,000 A YEAR PLUS ERA, THAT PUTS US RIGHT AROUND 310,000.
WITH THIS 6000 BUDGETED PER WEEK, IT PUTS US AT $312,000.
SO IT REALLY, TRULY, DEPENDING ON WHO WE HIRE, WE HOPE TO FIND ONE SOON.
AND WHEN THEY GET IN HERE, ONCE WE START PAYING THEM AN ANNUAL SALARY AND ERA, IT REALLY, TRULY COMES OUT TO ABOUT WHAT WE'RE BEING CHARGED BY THESE DOCTORS WHO ARE HELPING PROVIDE US COVERAGE.
SO ANYBODY WHO'S OUT THERE, SHE'S TAKING PHONE CALLS.
ANYWAY, I'LL MOVE TO ACCEPT IT SINCE IT'S A BASICALLY A WASH.

THEY'RE ACTUALLY NOT ASSOCIATED WITH A RANGE AND STEP.
SO I'M JUST KIND OF CURIOUS RIGHT NOW, THE 6000, WOULD THAT BE, YOU KNOW, MIDPOINT OF WHATEVER WE HAD DETERMINED WAS THE APPROPRIATE PAY FOR THAT PERSON? SO I THINK THAT'S A QUESTION I'D STILL LIKE TO TRY AND GET ANSWERED.
THAT WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY A MIDPOINT.
WHEN I LOOK AT WHAT I KNOW OF SALARIES OF MEDICAL EXAMINERS GENERALLY, THERE ARE ONES RIGHT OUT OF SCHOOL THAT ARE MAKING UNDER 200,000, BUT THEY CAN MAKE ANYWHERE UP TO 500,000 A YEAR.
AND SO WE'VE HAD RECENTLY SOMEONE COME IN AND ASK IF WE WOULD PAY THEM 400,000.
THEY'RE A VERY HIGHLY PAID INDIVIDUAL.

BUT WE DO LOOK TO TRY TO FIND SOMEBODY THAT WOULD BE WILLING TO WORK AT A REASONABLE RATE.RIGHT NOW IT'S A VERY SCARCE RESOURCE AND WE MAY HAVE TO BE MORE COMPETITIVE WITH WHAT WE'RE WILLING TO PAY AND THAT WILL BE DEPENDENT ON WHAT THE BOARD WILL ALLOW AT THE TIME WE FIND SOMEBODY WHO'S INTERESTED.
IS THERE ANY REASON WHY WE DIDN'T TRY AND GET THIS PERSON ON A CONTRACT RATHER THAN AS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE? THERE'S THREE OF THEM AND THEY ROTATE IN EVERY THREE WEEKS.
SO THERE'S THREE DOCTORS FROM PIMA COUNTY RIGHT NOW.
WE DO HAVE OTHERS THAT MAY, AFTER THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, WANT TO ENTER THAT ROTATION.
AND SO AS A GENERAL RULE, SINCE I'VE STARTED OVERSEEING THE MEDICAL EXAMINER'S OFFICE, WE'VE USED THE TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE STATUS SO THAT WE CAN SET THEIR HOURLY RATE, GET THEIR PAPERWORK ON THE BOOKS, BUT THAT WE CAN ROTATE IN DIFFERENT DOCTORS AS NEEDED, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE NEED EXTENDED COVERAGE LIKE THIS.
IT'S BEEN A YEAR SO FAR THAT THEY'VE BEEN PROVIDING US COVERAGE.
AND SO IF WE NEED TO MAKE CHANGES TO THAT, IT'S SOMETIMES BETTER NOT TO HAVE THEM ON CONTRACT SO THAT WE CAN ADD IN OTHER DOCTORS OR FIND OTHERS WILLING TO PROVIDE THIS COVERAGE.
WELL, AGAIN, IF YOU HAD A CONTRACT, YOU COULD HAVE A VERY SET AMOUNT THAT YOU'RE GOING TO PAY THEM AND IT WOULDN'T BE COMING TO THE BOARD AND TRYING TO GET ADDITIONAL COSTS COVERED. SO I'M JUST A LITTLE WORRIED THAT, YOU KNOW, SIX MONTHS FROM NOW THE PERSON MIGHT COME ALONG AND SAY, YOU KNOW, I REALLY NEED TO GET 7000 A WEEK.
SO I'M A LITTLE CONCERNED ABOUT THAT.
ARE WE PAYING TRAVEL OR ANY OF THEIR LODGING WHEN THEY COME UP HERE? NO, THEY DID REQUEST THAT WE PAY LODGING IN ADDITION TO THE 6000, AND THAT WAS A NO ANSWER BASED ON OUR POLICIES FOR WHAT WE PAY FOR LOCAL. LODGING, BUT ALSO THE 6000 WE WERE ABLE TO NEGOTIATE TO THE $6,000 RATE THAT MUST BE INCLUSIVE OF TRAVEL AND LODGING AND ANY OTHER COSTS.
SO THE ADDITIONAL COST OF THE 6000 OVER FIVE, IS THAT CURRENTLY IN YOUR BUDGET OR ARE YOU ASKING FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING? THIS WILL BE ADDITIONAL FUNDING.
NOW. WE WILL HAVE SOME COST SAVINGS BASED ON THE FACT THAT WE HAVE AN ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATOR POSITION THAT'S CURRENTLY UNFILLED AND THE AUTOPSY TECH POSITION THAT WE'RE APPROVED BY THE BOARD.
SO WE WILL HAVE SOME VACANCY SAVINGS BASED ON VACANCIES.
WE WILL THOSE ARE GOING TO BE POSTED.
SO WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR THOSE POSITIONS TO BE FILLED.
BUT WHAT WE'RE ASKING FOR RIGHT NOW IS THE $52,000 INCREASE IN THE SALARY LINE.
IT IS TRUE THE MEDICAL EXAMINER POSITION WAS NOT INCLUDED AS PART OF THE COMPENSATION STUDY.
I WILL SAY THAT THIS POSITION HAS HISTORICALLY BEEN DIFFICULT TO FILL AND IT'S TURNED OVER SEVERAL TIMES DURING MY TENURE HERE. AND EACH TIME THAT IT HAS TURNED OVER, WE HAVE DONE A SALARY STUDY, AN INDEPENDENT SALARY STUDY FOR THAT PARTICULAR POSITION TO ENSURE THAT THE SALARY THAT WE'RE OFFERING WHEN WE ADVERTISE FOR IT IS COMPETITIVE.

NUMBER 11 IS A IS ARPA FUNDING.
WE HAD AGREED TO PAY THE THAT SPECTRUM HAD UNDER ARPA FUNDING AND THE IMMUNIZATION FUND.
BUT WHEN IT CAME DOWN TO IT, THE REGULATION AND RESTRICTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS UNDER ARPA WERE SO MUCH THAT WE ENDED UP HAVING TO GO SEPARATELY AND ASK THE BOARD TO MAKE GOOD ON THE CONTRACT.
AND SO THAT'S WHAT HAS BEEN PAID ALREADY.
THESE WERE ALSO AMOUNTS AGREED UPON EARLY IN THE CONTRACT TO COVER THEIR COSTS, BOTH UNDER THE IMMUNIZATION FUND AND ARPA FUNDS ENDED UP BEING LESS THAN WE ORIGINALLY HAD BUDGETED.
IS STILL ARPA FUNDS THAT HAVE BEEN REALLOCATED TO OTHER PROJECTS.
AND THEN THERE IS STILL IMMUNIZATION FUNDS LEFT OVER.
OBVIOUSLY WE DIDN'T USE ALL OF IT.
THERE WAS ABOUT 100,000 LEFT THERE AND THE STATE HAS BEEN ASKING IF WE WOULD GIVE THOSE BACK AND WE DO BELIEVE THAT WE WILL PROBABLY BE FORFEITING THOSE BACK TO THE STATE BECAUSE WE'RE NOT DOING WHAT IS REQUIRED IN THAT GRANT ANYMORE, WHICH IS GIVING OUT THE COVID VACCINATIONS AT A HIGHER RATE ANYMORE. SO I SEEM TO RECALL SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WHEN WE APPROVED THAT ALMOST $1 MILLION, AS I UNDERSTOOD IT THEN, THAT WAS THE TOTAL CATCH UP. WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER OTHER COSTS.

WHAT IT WAS BEFORE WE HAD ONE EMPLOYEE THAT PROBABLY SPENT A THIRD OF HER TIME MANAGING ALL OF THESE OFF DUTY DETAIL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VENDORS, SETTING THEM UP, MAKING SURE THAT THEY HAD THE APPROPRIATE INSURANCE, PAYING THE DEPUTY, GETTING THE 1099 INFORMATION TAX INFORMATION FROM THE OFFICER BACK OR FROM THE FROM THE VENDOR TO THE OFFICER AND FOR TAX PURPOSES, BECAUSE ALL OF THIS IS A SEPARATE ISSUE FOR THE OFFICER WHEN THEY WORK THIS STUFF.
IT'S NOT IT DOESN'T COME THROUGH THE COUNTY.
IT DOESN'T GO ONTO THE RETIREMENT.
THEY HAVE TO PAY TAXES ON THAT.

THE SAMPLING LOCATION WILL MIRROR WHERE THESE SYSTEMS WILL NEED TO SAMPLE ONCE IT IS REGULATED.
THE PREVIOUS SAMPLING EVENTS WERE DONE AT THE SOURCES OR AT THE WELLS.
WE AT ADEQ WOULD LIKE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF P-FAS IN ARIZONA SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT P-FAS ARE, WHAT A-DEC IS DOING TO ADDRESS THESE CHEMICALS IN OUR ENVIRONMENT AND WHAT STEPS TO TAKE NOW TO PROTECT YOUR HEALTH.
FIRST, IT'S IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND SOME BASIC FACTS ABOUT P-FAS.
SOME P-FAS HAVE BEEN MORE COMMONLY MANUFACTURED THAN OTHERS, INCLUDING TWO OF THE MOST WIDELY USED AND STUDIED P-FAS MOLECULES PFOA AND PFOS. SCIENTIFIC STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT EXPOSURE TO SOME P-FAS MAY BE LINKED TO HARMFUL HEALTH EFFECTS IN HUMANS AND ANIMALS DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH P-FAS SOMEONE IS EXPOSED TO AND FOR HOW LONG.
CERTAIN P-FAS CAN HAVE POTENTIAL HARMFUL EFFECTS, FOR EXAMPLE, INCREASING THE CHANCE OF GETTING SOME CANCERS, INCREASING CHOLESTEROL LEVELS AND AFFECTING REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT.
BECAUSE OF THEIR UNIQUE AND BENEFICIAL PROPERTIES, P-FAS HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED INTO MANY COMMON CONSUMER PRODUCTS, INCLUDING CARPETS, FURNISHINGS, FOOD, PACKAGING, COSMETICS, CLOTHING, COOKWARE AND MANY OTHERS.
IN SOME CASES, CONSUMERS CAN CHOOSE TO LIMIT THEIR EXPOSURE TO P-FAS, FOR EXAMPLE, BY AVOIDING PRODUCTS LABELED AS WATER OR STAIN RESISTANT, AVOIDING FOOD IN CONTACT WITH GREASE PROOF PACKAGING AND AVOIDING PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS WITH FLUORINATED INGREDIENTS ON THE LABEL.

THESE CHEMICALS CAN MAKE THEIR WAY TO OUR STATE THROUGH THE PURCHASE OF CONSUMER PRODUCTS.THE USE OF FIREFIGHTING FOAMS AND AS RAW MATERIALS USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF OTHER PRODUCTS.
PEOPLE MAY BE EXPOSED DIRECTLY FROM USING THESE PRODUCTS, BUT AS THEY ARE USED OR THROWN AWAY, THEY ALSO ENTER OUR LANDFILLS AND OUR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS AND IN TURN CAN BE RELEASED INTO THE ENVIRONMENT WHERE THEY CAN ACCUMULATE AND DO NOT EASILY BREAK DOWN.
FROM THERE. THEY MAY END UP IN OUR FOOD OR OUR DRINKING WATER.
THE CDC HAS MEASURED P-FAS IN THE US POPULATION SINCE 1999 AND HAS FOUND THAT P-FAS ARE PRESENT IN THE BLOOD OF 99% OF AMERICANS.
HOWEVER, SINCE 2002, THE PRODUCTION AND USE OF TWO OF THE MOST COMMON P-FAS, PFOA AND PFOS HAS DECLINED AND RESEARCHERS HAVE SEEN A CORRESPONDING DECLINE IN BLOOD LEVELS IN THE CASE OF PFOS BY MORE THAN 85%.
PAFS ARE NOT CURRENTLY REGULATED AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL OR IN ARIZONA.
THE US ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FIRST RELEASED PROVISIONAL P-FAS HEALTH ADVISORIES IN 2009, WHICH DEFINED ADVISORY LEVELS FOR PFOA AND PFOS. SINCE THAT TIME, THE ADVISORY LEVELS HAVE BEEN REVISED LOWER FIRST IN 2016 AND AGAIN IN 2022 AND WERE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL COMPOUNDS, PCBS AND GENX CHEMICALS.
HEALTH ADVISORIES ARE NOT LEGALLY ENFORCEABLE.
IN MARCH 2023, EPA TOOK THE NEXT STEP AFTER MANY YEARS OF STUDY AND RECENT RESEARCH.
EPA PROPOSED A NATIONAL PRIMARY DRINKING WATER REGULATION.
THE PROPOSED REGULATION WOULD CREATE A MAXIMUM CONTAMINANT LEVEL OR MCL FOR SIX COMMON P-FAS AND MCL IS THE MAXIMUM CONCENTRATION OF A CONTAMINANT ALLOWED IN DRINKING WATER THAT CAN BE DELIVERED BY A PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM.
EPA HAS PROPOSED TO REGULATE PFOA AND PFOS AT A LEVEL OF FOUR PARTS PER TRILLION, WHILE FOUR OTHER PARTS ARE PROPOSED TO BE REGULATED AS A MIXTURE USING A STANDARD CALCULATION CALLED A HAZARD INDEX.
THESE PROPOSED MCLS WERE DEVELOPED BY EPA TO ACCOUNT FOR CHRONIC EXPOSURES TO LOW LEVELS OF PFAS OVER TIME AT CONCENTRATIONS TYPICALLY FOUND IN DRINKING WATER. THEY ARE NOT DANGEROUS IN THE SAME WAY AS ACUTE WATER CONTAMINANTS LIKE E.COLI, WHICH MAY BE DANGEROUS IF CONSUMED EVEN ONCE.
ONE PART PER TRILLION IS EQUIVALENT TO A SINGLE DROP OF WATER IN 20 OLYMPIC SIZED SWIMMING POOLS.
SO THIS HOPEFULLY GIVES YOU AN IDEA OF JUST HOW SMALL THESE NUMBERS REALLY ARE AND ALSO HOW CAUTIOUS EPA IS BEING ABOUT THE LONG TERM RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH EXPOSURE TO P-FAS IN OUR DRINKING WATER.
IT'S EXPECTED THAT EPA WILL FINALIZE THE PROPOSED DRINKING WATER REGULATION WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR.
IN ADDITION TO DRINKING WATER REGULATIONS, EPA HAS PROPOSED DESIGNATING CERTAIN P-FAS AS HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES, WHICH WOULD ALLOW THE STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO HOLD POLLUTERS ACCOUNTABLE.
AN EPA HAS ALSO PROPOSED AQUATIC LIFE STANDARDS TO HELP PROTECT WILD LIFE IN OUR STREAMS AND RIVERS.
SO WHAT IS ADEQ DOING ABOUT P-FAS IN ARIZONA? ADEQ IS TAKING SEVERAL STEPS TO PROTECT PUBLIC HEALTH AND HELP OUR STATE PREPARE FOR FUTURE EPA ACTIONS.
THIS TESTING INCLUDED DRINKING WATER, GROUNDWATER, WASTEWATER AND BIOSOLIDS.
IN 2023, WE BEGAN A COMPREHENSIVE P-FAS TESTING PROGRAM TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL OF ARIZONA'S REGULATED DRINKING WATER SYSTEMS ARE SAMPLED FOR P-FAS IN ADVANCE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS.
IF P-FAS ARE DETECTED, WE CAN BEGIN WORKING RIGHT AWAY WITH AFFECTED WATER PROVIDERS TO COLLECT MORE DATA, FIND SOLUTIONS, AND IDENTIFY FUNDING TO REDUCE EXPOSURE TO P-FAS. WE'LL HAVE MORE DETAILS ON THIS IMPORTANT PROGRAM IN JUST A MOMENT.

WHILE WE'RE ACTIVELY WORKING TO PROTECT DRINKING WATER, WE'RE ALSO TRYING TO IDENTIFY THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO PREVENT MORE P-FAS FROM ENTERING OUR ENVIRONMENT.THE PROGRAM WAS ALLOCATED $395,000 DURING FISCAL YEAR 2023, WHICH HAS ALLOWED US TO WORK WITH 40 FIRE DEPARTMENTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE TO REPLACE AND PROPERLY DISPOSE OF ALMOST 6000 GALLONS OF TRIPLE F TO DATE.
WE HAD 275 GALLONS THAT WE NO LONGER WERE UTILIZING BECAUSE OF THE RISK AND A TRUCK EASILY PULLED UP, LOADED IT AND UNLOADED THAT F 500 THAT WILL NOW BE ABLE TO DISTRIBUTE TO OUR TRUCKS.
BEING INVOLVED IN THIS PROGRAM WAS SO ESSENTIAL AND CRITICAL FOR US TO GET RID OF THESE CHEMICALS.
AS SOMEONE WHO'S BEEN IN THE FIRE SERVICE FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND HAVE WATCHED FRIENDS BE DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER, KNOWING THAT THERE'S PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT CARE ENOUGH TO REPLACE THESE FOAMS AND ANYTHING THAT WE'RE DETERMINING AS A CANCER CAUSING AGENT.
THAT BEING ON TOP OF MINE FOR THEM, IT JUST MEANS A LOT.
THEREFORE, AIDC HAS COMMITTED TO USING $3 MILLION OF FEDERAL SAFE DRINKING WATER ACT FUNDS TO SAMPLE THESE SMALL WATER SYSTEMS AND HELP ENSURE THAT ALL REGULATED WATER SYSTEMS IN ARIZONA WILL BE TESTED.
THE TOOLKIT INCLUDES INFORMATION ON FUNDING, CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION AND POTENTIAL NEXT STEPS.
SYSTEMS ARE ASKED TO FOLLOW EPA RECOMMENDATIONS TO INFORM THEIR CUSTOMERS OF THE RESULTS.
FOR THOSE SYSTEMS WITH P-FAS CONCENTRATIONS HIGHER THAN THE EPA'S PROPOSED LIMITS, THEY CAN GET A HEAD START PLANNING FOR EXPANDED TESTING, EVALUATING POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS, AND APPLYING FOR FEDERAL FUNDING IF NECESSARY.
WITH MANY SYSTEMS ACROSS THE NATION FACING SIMILAR CHALLENGES, IT'S IMPORTANT THAT ARIZONA'S DRINKING WATER PROVIDERS BEGIN PLANNING TO MEET THE NEW RULES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SO WHAT CAN YOU DO IF P-FAS IS DETECTED IN YOUR DRINKING WATER? IF YOUR WATER IS CONFIRMED TO CONTAIN P-FAS.
IN MANY CASES, ACTION IS NOT NECESSARY IMMEDIATELY.
YOU CAN CHOOSE TO REDUCE YOUR EXPOSURE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BY NOT USING UNTREATED WATER FOR ACTIVITIES LIKE DRINKING, COOKING, WASHING, PRODUCE, BRUSHING TEETH OR PREPARING FORMULA.

I'M BEING TOLD THAT THAT WELL WAS INACTIVATED AND THEN COTTONWOOD SYSTEM CW ONE HAS ALSO HAD A VERY LOW LEVEL, I BELIEVE IT WAS THREE PARTS PER TRILLION. SO THOSE ARE THE KNOWN DETECT LEVELS AND YAVAPAI CURRENTLY.
